The Replacement Process - What to Expect
Our goal is to insure your customer will get an accurate settlement.
- First we will contact your insured and review all available information such as appraisals, photographs and receipts to make sure we have a complete description of their lost jewelry. This will involve direct contact with the insured and possibly you.
- We will arrange a meeting with your insured either at our office or in the convenience of their home or office.
- Our meeting together will involve selection of suitable replacement items. Once that is done and the replacement cost is determined, we will review your insured's options with them:
- Replace all or part of their loss
- Take the value of the loss and apply it toward any other item(s)
- Take a settlement direct from the insurance company. We let them know they aren't required to replace with us.
- We will advise your insured that the settlement amount needs to be approved by you.
- If they want to replace item(s), we will have them sign a release and authorization form which will allow us to bill you directly for the quoted amount or coverage limit, any deductibles and upgrades will be collected from the insured.
- If the insured chooses not to replace with us, we will advise you to settle directly with the insured for the quoted price.
- Once the jewelry replacement is complete, we will issue a new in-depth appraisal with a conservative retail value to get proper coverage.
Our intention is to not only replace your customer's jewelry, but to handle the claim professionally, quickly and with as little inconvenience to you and your insured as possible.
